Maryam Ahmed

I'm a reporter based in Texas studying journalism and Middle Eastern studies at the University of Texas at Austin. I've served as a news reporter and editor at The Daily Texan, and I've interned at The Austin Chronicle, The Austin-American Statesman and The Dallas Morning News.

Even though I'm still early in my career, I've covered some heavy topics, including hate crimes, natural disasters and police brutality. As a self-proclaimed public information request warrior, I'm always on the lookout for impactful stories and new challenges. 

In my life outside journalism, I'm an internationally recognized juggler (no, I won't perform at your kid's birthday party), a henna artist and an avid reader.
